INAS World Winter Sports Championships
INAS World Winter Sports Championships (The International Federation for Athlets with Intellectual Impairments) took place in Lens en Vencors – Isere, France, from 5th to 9th March.
For alpine skiing, the Italian team obtained several medals such as the two bronzes, in the super g and in the combined, obtained by Gabriele Rondi of Val Camonica.
The team parallel, composed by Kathrin Oberhauser from Bressanone, Manuel Volgger from Vipiteno, Sara Ghiselli from Varese and Gabriele Rondi, gained the silver medal.
The event was characterized by a high technical level that highlighted the technical preparation of all the athletes. The nations that were ready at the starting gates were: Austria, Czech Rep., Estonia, Finland, France, Japan, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and, of course, Italy.
